Stonyhurst Heritage Centre Works Begin

RV Fire Systems has recently commenced fire alarm installation work at Stonyhurst Heritage Centre. We are working closely with JRB Environmental Design Ltd (M&E Consultants) on the design of the fire alarm system and providing installation and commissioning of a hard-wired Notifier fire system, C-TEC disabled refuge and toilet alarms, due to being the existing principal fire alarm contractor for the client Stonyhurst College. We are also supplying and commissioning three wireless bedside vibrating pad units onsite for rooms where anyone hard of hearing might be sleeping so that they can be alerted in the event of a fire.

Stonyhurst Heritage Centre

The Trustees of Stonyhurst Christian Heritage Centre Trust are in the process of creating a Christian Heritage Centre at Stonyhurst College, in three phases of development – of which the conversion and restoration of the old mill to create retreat facilities is the third. Stonyhurst College is a co-educational Roman Catholic Independent School, founded in 1593. The earliest record indicating a house on the site is the licence for an oratory obtained in 1372.

Bedside Fire Alarm System

The Geofire Agrippa vibrating pillow alarm system is a battery powered, wire-free unit with a pad attachment that goes beneath the pillow. It uses wire-free digital technology to listen for the sound unique to a specific fire alarm. When the fire alarm bell sounds the pillow pad will vibrate, and the main unit will flash its high intensity LED lights and display “fire” on its LCD screen. Because it is compact, it is portable and can be moved around the building to whichever room it is required.
