Dover Landlord Fined Over £10,000
In a significant case highlighting the obligations of landlords, a Dover landlord was found guilty at Margate Magistrates Court of 22 housing act offences related to a “house in multiple occupation” (HMO) investment property he owned. Fernando Xavier da Moura Monteiro was fined a total of £10,450, which included £5,000 for costs and a £50 victim surcharge.
